HYROX · Functional FitnessVANTAGE MAX makes non-slip compression grip socks for HYROX and functional fitness, knitted in South Korea with a full-sole silicone Hexa-Grip pattern and a taping-style compression band through the arch and ankle, designed by a physiotherapist with over 20 years of clinical practice. Currently sold out — online orders are paused for now.
HYROX punishes anything that moves inside your shoe. The sled push and sled pull load the forefoot while you drive forward; burpee broad jumps and wall balls repeat landing and rebounding; the farmers carry and sandbag lunges shift load sideways. Between all of it you run 8 × 1 km on a floor that is usually damp with other people's sweat.
If the foot slides inside the shoe on each of those transitions, two things happen: you lose a fraction of the force you are applying, and the sock itself starts to twist and bunch by the back half of the race. A grip sole removes that variable by holding the foot against the insole.

Grip socks started in football and spread to every sport where the foot has to hold position inside a shoe.
| Sport | The problem | How they're used |
|---|---|---|
| Football & futsal | Cuts, pivots and sudden stops on every touch | Worn under a cut team sock — routine at professional level |
| HYROX & functional fitness | Sled push/pull, wall balls, lunges, 8 × 1 km runs | Foot slide costs force on every station |
| Running & marathon | Forward slide on downhills, wet-sock abrasion | Grip plus arch compression over long distance |
| Basketball & netball | Lateral cuts and hard stops on court | In-shoe traction and ankle support |
| Badminton, tennis & squash | Constant lunging and direction change | Racket sports are the heaviest users after football |
| Rugby & field hockey | Studs on wet grass, scrummaging and driving | Same mechanism as football |
| Gym & strength training | Bracing under load, deadlifts and squats | A stable foot is a stable base |
| Size | Foot length | US | UK | EU |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | 215–240 mm | US 4–6 | UK 4–6 | EU 35–38 |
| M | 245–270 mm | US 7–9 | UK 7–9 | EU 39–42 |
| L | 275–300 mm | US 10–12 | UK 10–12 | EU 43–46 |
A 260 mm foot takes size M. Compression socks feel noticeably tight on first wear and settle after a few wears — size up only if you are between sizes and prefer a looser fit.
They are not required by the rules, but in-shoe foot movement costs force on the sled and lunge stations. A grip sole holds the foot against the insole so less of that push is lost.
Yes. They are ordinary crew-length sports socks worn inside your shoes. HYROX has no restriction on sock type.
The V1 Pro. It is BioMax 75%, which dries faster than the cotton-blend V1 — the deciding factor in Singapore's humidity over a full race.
